Running Scenarios with Measurement
When running a scenario, one measurement or a series of repeated measurements can be performed at each stub triplet setting. The measurements will start after the dwell time for this triplet has elapsed. The measurement results are written to one or two output files.
Procedure:
-
Select a desired scenario sequence (page).
-
Click the Measure button
to turn in On. This will activate the measurements. -
Right-click the table to open the context menu. Click the Meas/Posit menu item to choose the number Nrpt of repeated measurements to be performed at each scenario setting.
-
Click the Play/Stop button
. The button appearance turns to
and the program reminds you of the option to enable the input reflection coefficient transformation (see Transforming Input Reflection Coefficient section for details). If you choose to continue, all stubs are retracted to home positions. -
Following this, the dialog titled Prepare Output Files opens, prompting you to define (a) the name of the files the output measurement files, and (b) a comment.
-
If Nrpt > 1, two output files will be created with the defined name: one with an extension txt, the other with an extension rkd.
-
If Nrpt = 1, only the txt file will be created.
-
The scenario then starts running automatically, writing the measurement results for each stubs setting to the specified output files. The progress is shown in the bottom status bar of the Scenario window. Unlike the case without measurement:
-
The scenario will always start from the topmost table row.
-
Only a single scenario run will be performed, regardless of the Cyclic button
status.
-
Click the Play/Stop button
again if you wish to abort the scenario while running.
